Paintless Dent Removal or PDR for short involves gently massaging the damaged area from the inside of the panel, carefully pushing the dent or crease back into its original shape without requiring any paintwork. This method is more cost-effective and quicker than traditional body shop repairs.
The criteria for pricing a repair using (PDR) depends on quite a few different factors, i.e. size and shape of the damage, make, model and age of vehicle, type of metal used (Steel, High Strength Steel or Aluminium), paint colour, location of damage (in open areas, strengthening panels behind damage, damage through body lines), severity of damage etc... The majority of repairs usually cost a lot less than your insurance excess, with prices starting from as little as £70.00 for a single panel. Large discounts are given for multiple panels, whole vehicles or more than one vehicle at a single location.
Below is a description of damage that can be removed using our skills in PDR.
Minor Dings or Dent
Minor dings or dents are very small indentations on a vehicle's exterior panels. They mostly occur from parking accidents, minor collisions, and other minor impacts. These dings or dents may not affect the overall functionality of the vehicle but can impact its aesthetic appearance and resale value.
Minor dings or dents can usually be repaired through techniques like paintless dent repair (PDR) and should take less than an hour to complete.

Small Dings, Dents or Creases
Small dings, dents or creases on a vehicle's exterior panels which are still smaller in size and may have slight deformations or creases. These indentations can occur from various incidents such as car parking mishaps, very low-speed collisions or items falling onto the panels.
While they shouldn't affect the structural integrity of the vehicle, they can still be unsightly and diminish its overall appearance and value. Repairing small dings, dents or creases can be done through techniques such as paintless dent repair (PDR) and should take just over an hour to complete.

Medium Sized Dents or Creases
Medium-sized dents or creases on a vehicle's exterior which is damage that is larger in size and can have more pronounced deformations. These types of dents or creases can occur from more significant impacts, such as moderate collisions and accidents.
Repairing medium-sized dents or creases require professional intervention techniques like paintless dent repair (PDR) and can take anywhere between 1 to 2 hours to complete.

Large Sized Dents or Creases
Large-sized dents or creases on a vehicle's exterior refer to significant damage that are extensive in size and have substantial deformations. These types of dents and creases usually occur from more severe collisions, accidents, and a impactful incident.
Repairing large-sized dents or creases require more professional complex repair techniques like paintless dent repair (PDR). A succesful outcome on a repair of this size depends on the location of the damage on the panel, the depth of the impact and how much the metal has stretched. A paintless dent repair (PDR) of this size can take anywhere between 3 and 5 hours to complete.

Extremely Large Sized Dents or Creases
Extremely large-sized dents or creases on a vehicle's exterior refer to damages that are unusually significant, covering a large portion of the vehicle panel or resulting in severe deformations and creases. These types of dents or creases are typically caused by major collisions, accidents, or other types of impacts.
Repairing extremely large-sized dents or creases can be challenging and can require extensive repair work and expertise in metal manipulation. In some cases, the damage may be so severe that it cannot be fully restored with just PDR alone. A combination of both PDR and a traditional bodyshop repair may then be required. The specific repair process will depend on factors such as the extent of the damage, the type of vehicle, and the accessibility of the affected area. Timescales on these repairs can vary greatly.

Damage that Unfortunately Cannot be Repaired with PDR
There are cases where certain types of damage cannot be repaired using paintless dent removal (PDR) techniques. These include:
1. Damage with very sharp or deep creases: PDR relies on massaging the metal back into its original shape, which is not possible when there are very sharp or very deep creases in the damage. These types of dents and creases often require intervention from a traditional body shop or even as a last resort, panel replacement and paintwork.
2. Paint damage or broken paint: PDR does not involve repainting the damaged area. If the dent is accompanied by paint damage or broken paint, it can still sometimes be repaired but will require additional repair techniques such as a traditional paint repair and refinishing after the dent is removed.
3. Structural damage: If the dent or crease has caused structural damage to the vehicle, such as compromising the frame or underlying support structure, it will require specialized repair techniques to restore the structural integrity. PDR alone cannot address these types of damages.
4. Damage that has already had dent removal attempted and is over stretch and beyond reversal. Usually caused by lesser skilled PDR technicians or DIY dent repairers. Unfortunately the only option for this is a costly traditional bodyshop dent and paint repair.
In situations where PDR is not suitable or possible, it is recommended to seek professional help. We will be able to assess the damage and recommend the most appropriate repair method. This may include a combination of techniques from a traditional bodyshop with panel and paint work to restore the vehicle back to its pre-damaged condition.
